We have recently signed up to the Go Green initiative, which is being run to coincide with Bristol 2015 European Green Capital. As a design team, we have always considered ourselves fairly green, but we are finding this programme useful to reassess what we do and how we can be even more sustainable.
We feel that one of the most beneficial ways we can Go Green is to liaise with clients on the best ways of producing their marketing materials. For example, to have a limited print run of a leaflet or brochure using a local printer with high environmental working practices. This might include using recycled and recycling materials, FSC certified papers, vegetable-based inks, low-energy production and waterless presses. Additionally, to create digital versions of leaflet and brochure designs for email and web use. This helps save on storage space, distribution costs and wastage of resources.
Also, we couldn’t resist these bright red strawberries from the local Farmer’s Market, which is right on our doorstep. Can we count this as the start of our office fruit bowl? Something which Go Green recommends for a happy and healthy workforce. Sometimes red is green too!
